HOW TO GET THERE
Sule Pagoda is located at the centre of Yangon, further south from the Shwedagon. It is situated in the Kyauktada Township, at the junction of Sule Pagoda Road and Mahabandoola Road.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
The beautiful golden Sule Pagoda is located in downtown Yangon and is a must-visit attraction for tourists. The pagoda is characterised by a 152-foot high golden dome and octagonal body. It was used by the British as the nucleus to develop the grid pattern of the Yangon city. Today, Sule Pagoda is a landmark and prominent feature of downtown Yangon.
Sule Pagoda is believed to be 2,600 years old, even older than the Shwedagon. According to legend, the area where Sule Pagoda has been built was the original home of a powerful nat (spirit) named Sularata. It is a Mon-style chedi pagoda with an octagonal shape. Everything in the pagoda is believed to be over a century old.

Sule Pagoda can be visited anytime. While the golden spire glistens during the day, the view at night is also splendid.
