ST. MARY’S CATHEDRAL

Saint Mary’s Cathedral is a popular tourist destination for everyone visiting Yangon. Also known as the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, it is located in Botahtaung Township. This massive church is the largest cathedral in Myanmar.

It has withstood an earthquake that hit Yangon in 1930. The building was not damaged by the tremors, making it more special to tourists and locals alike. The church dons nice red-colored bricks and a unique bell-shaped tower in which you will notice as you approach the area.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

It is best to visit the cathedral from November to January when the weather is cool.
