Our community visit programme works on four main principles – cultural preservation, environmental conservation, educational opportunities and sustainable business development. KACHIN STATE
INNDAWGYI (4-VILLAGES)
Participate in a community visit at the largest inland lake of Asia – Indawgyi Lake. In this community visit programme, you will be able to visit 4 villages and get a true feel of rural northern Myanmar. You will be visiting the Indawgyi Wildlife Sanctuary and exploring a variety of flora and fauna. This was Myanmar’s first eco-tourism site started in 2013, which has gained tremendous popularity over the last few years. You can visit the villages of Lone Tone, Haipu, Nant Mee Laung He and Nyaung Pyinat and interact with the local people. You can enjoy local activities such as kayaking, motor boating, cycling, trekking, and bird watching, and can also observe the local ancient pagodas and stupas and the ethnic rituals of the region. Package tours are organised by organisations and travel companies.
MANDALAY REGION
SITHE & MYITKANGYI VILLAGES, SINGU
If your itinerary features Mandalay, we recommend taking a detour and visiting Sithe Village and MyitKanGyi Village to have a unique experience. You can observe the local villagers’ way of life in all its fascinating forms – architecture, people, animals, local activities, pottery, cheroot making, and grinding peanut oil in the traditional way. You can also enjoy net fishing together with the local fishermen.
MINGUN-KYAUK MYAUNG (6 VILLAGES)
Enjoy a community visit in any of the six Ayeyarwaddy River Villages between Mingun and Kyaukmyaung, In Daung, YwarThit, Myay Sun, Sein Pan Gone, Aye Kyun and HsinKyun in Mandalay Region. You can get involved in the fishing tour interaction between fishermen and dolphins, learning about the villagers’ and fishermen’s livelihood.
KAYAH STATE
LOIKAW (4 VILLAGES)
This community visit is conducted in the Kayah State on the eastern side of Myanmar where you can visit 4 villages – Pan Pet, Tani La Lah, Daw Ta Ma Gyi and Htay Kho. Kayah state is characterised by distinctive tribes who have diverse culture and traditions. Participating in this will give you an amazing understanding of the cultures of these tribes. You can enjoy and observe traditional customs such as the Kayan people’s culture, lifestyle, handicrafts, silversmithing, local songs and dancing, trekking, making Kayah sausage, eating traditional food, riding ox-cart, and weaving. Don’t forget to buy local souvenirs as a memory of this incredible trip.

KAYIN STATE
THAN TAUNG GYI
If your trip takes you to Southern Myanmar, consider participating in community visit at Than Taung Gyi in Kyin State. Stay with the villagers who offer bed and breakfasts, cooking courses and village/local guided tours under hygeinic environment. You can participate in a trekking trip and learn about the historical background of the village. There are several interesting landmarks close-by such as a British Hill Station, Tea Plantation and Factory, Waterfalls and Hot Spring. You can also explore the forests with locals as their guide. We strongly recommend joining the locals to celebrate their festivals.
MAGWAY REGION
MYAING (4 VILLAGES)
This community visit is conducted in 4 villages – Myaing, including East Kangyi Taw, West Kangyi Taw, Inn Yaung and Suli Pan Villages. You can visit and observe two villages by bicycle on the first day and the rest of the villages on the second day. You can experience the 170 year – old Monastery there. You can also observe the community small medium enterprise businesses such as Ma-Ywe snack making and weaving, the main livelihood of the village people.
MAGYIKAN VILLAGE, CHAUK
Visit Magyikan Village in Magway Region for an unique travel experience. This has been created as an alternative livelihood for the locals and showcases the local culture for visitors. You will get a chance to enjoy local traditional activities, learn the culture of the local people of the Tamarind Lake Village, and walk and trek through nearby villages. You can also taste delicious traditional food including local snacks such as Mote Pyar Tha Latt. You can also ride the traditional bullock carts around the village and visit the Salay tamarind juice production site.
YANGON REGION
KYAIKTHALAE VILLAGE, TWANTAY
Come to Kyaikthalae Village and enjoy a few days of fun with the locals. You can observe the process of making bamboo basket and sewing. You can also visit the organic compost fertilizer making site and agriculture business there.

SORLOUNG VILLAGE, KAN PET LET
We have arrangements for community based tourism in the Sorlong Village. We promise a fascinating and unforgettable experience. You can observe the Chin traditional norms and traditions, climb Mt. TA SUAN VILLAGE, FALAM
Come to Ta Suan Village, the village of former Chin National Leader, Bo John Bi (Bo Soon Part) and enjoy a few days of solitude. This village was a communication hub between Chin state and India during World War II. You can observe Chin traditional houses, unique village formations and social life and see historical evidence of the days gone by. Bo John Bi Museum and Tombs, ancient memorable monuments, the accessories of the Chin people, old building camps of the British army, the first football stadium of Chin State, the old fort, the Manipura Riverbank and small transporter bridge and TaSuan traditional dance and bonfire events are just some of the highlights.
